The year is coming to a close and I haven’t posted very much lately.  But I have been painting, so I thought I’d share some recent work.  I am looking for a theme that I would like to do a series of paintings about and these represent both: “movement” and
“looking outside.”  Nothing is clear in my mind about these, but I’m moving along and I hope to share more in the new year.  Happy holidays and a happy new year to all.

  1. Oh my, I love all 3 of these! Movement is perfect for those 2 – I love the hair, colors, movement!
Hand, mirror etc is really unusual, and I really like how you did that!!

  2. Wow, Alexis. The pictures are fabulous. I love the movement ones. The third one left me chuckling – I’ve had the stop-the-car-and-take-a-picture moments, so I can relate!

  3. I love this trio too! The dancers make me want to get up and move, and the third one tells a story without the person’s face — or gender, for that matter — being part of it.

    1. I don’t think I ever saw this comment. Thanks – so glad you like these. I’m trying to wind myself back up into gear for painting, so it’s good to see some positive feedback.

  4. Hi Lex I like the dance paintings (?) the color and movement of your hand are bright and loose. And the idea for the theme is juicy. I was jarred by the looking outside part. Consider looking inside? Love Sash

  5. Dearest Alexis, I like this series very much…the bright colors and intense movement of the dancers; they seem so full of life. And someone appreciates the outdoor scene so much that we get to see him/her taking a picture of it (a selfie?). Thanks for sharing your work. Love always.

    1. I’m so glad you like these Marion. I’m trying hard to find my voice, my self, in these paintings, so I’m glad they feel full of life to you. Thank you for writing. love always to you too.
